Jake & Bob

Jake's parents are visiting us and today we took Jake's dad Bob to ABasin! It was a fun day! I took these with my cell phone - it was a flat light day so the pics aren't great! It was snowing some but we had a great day!

My new wine table

I have been watching this wine table at Target and it went to 30% off but I waited. I went to Target last week it was finally 75% off and I bought it! Our target doesn't get shopped much so you can wait til things go on sales to buy them! Yay, I love it!

A little bit of Taos

We went to Taos for some great skiing! The first day all but one lift was open due to high winds but the second day we hit and 18" powder day!! Awesome! The Valley from the top
On the lift and ready to go
Our best run the first day, if you look close it's "Jean's Glade" (Jake's mom is Jean!)
The view from our hotel room, Taos Historic Plaza
Jake gettin some pow!
You can hike and ski everything you can see at Taos!
The base area is very "swiss alps-ish"

My ice candle

My mom told me about making an "ice candle", a friend made one for her, so I tried it and it turned out great!
1. Fill a 5 gallon bucket with water and set outside (in MN or CO)
2. Let it freeze for about 18 hours - not frozen completely
3. Turn bucket upside down and pour water middle out.
4. Place a candle in the center and set outside on front walk.

Here's mine:

and here's a picture of Baxter's new favorite thing. Waiting for us to let him inside.... He hasn't started pawing at the door yet. So far so good!

We have lots of snow!

My mom wanted to see how much snow we have so here are some pics of the house and yard with the snow. Jake and I are learning to keep up on the shoveling but it's tough when we were getting 6-12 inches everyday for a while there. FYI - On Dec 26th Silverton ski area just south of us reported 40 inches in 24 hours! The pass to the ski resort was closed so no one got to ski it that day.... Wow! We want that!Baxter loving his yard....

The front

Lots of Vikings Pride in our driveway...

Finally the sun is out....

The Deck view - Baxter loves to sit in the sun on the deck...(when it's shoveled..)

The back yard, the pond/water feature in our yard is that dip on the right side of the pic....
